Hello
Having previously used McAfee Virus scan with firewall, I decided to
downlaod and install Grisoft. This went well except that it will keep
getting stuck and seems to take ages doing an email scan using Outlook
Express. I have disabled the email scan part of the package, but am worried
that I may be vulnerable. I use NTL. Anybody any ideas what might be
causing the problem please.
Regards. Sal

Windows version?

Did you uninstall VirusScan before installing AVG?

Perhaps, especially if downloading new mail or sending mail in OE continues
to be sluggish. Does it?

As long as your virus definitions are kept up-to-date and AVG's realtime
protection (Resident Shield) is running in background at all times, email
scanning does't provide any additional protection or security.

In any event, yes, for best results you should uninstall any anti-virus
application and reboot before installing a new one. Uninstall VirusScan now
via Add/Remove Programs (then you *may* want to reinstall AVG to cover all
bases).
