I am having a serious problem here trying to work round a
companies security policy. I am working with a
transaction based piece of software on a server which is
networked to various POS on a Company Network. At the end
of each night I wish to poll the Server with this software
installed but in order to do so I must go via the
firewall. It has been suggested that I do so via a
Terminal Server. A terminal server to my understanding is
a piece of equipment with multiple modems which upon dial
up and receipt of username and pwd will provide you access
to restricted areas of a company network. The POS
software on the Server currently expects to have a modem
installed and it is then this modem that awaits a call
from the outside. Using the terminal server however uses
its own modem and the software at server side does not see
the phone connection occuring. Is it possible to simulate
a modem on a machine in this situation?? Does anyone have
any ideas/suggestions. This would be much appreciated.

Thanks

And use what instead?? This is the setup that the
Company's IT Department has given the ok for. I cannot
see any other workaround.
