I received an email addressed to HOTMAIL STAFF which requested that I update
some information that apparently was not made available to them
initially(nearly four years ago ). The things that they asked for were name,
address, phone number, SSN and a credit card number. NOW, I don't believe
that a credit card or
SSN is required for HOTMAIL account. Although they used a MSN logo at the
bottom of the mail- I suspect a identity ruse. Please be cautious! Does this
address mean anything to you? http://www.fargnsn.com/msn.php. Probably not.

If you fall for that - I have two bridges in the Sahara and a magic bean I
sell you.

What did the full headers of the message show? Probably not like this:

| From: "Hotmail Staff" <st...@hotmail.com>
| Subject: MSN: Custom Fit to Your Needs
| Date: Wed, 15 Jun 2005 00:00:01 -0800
| Mime-Version: 1.0
| Content-Type: text/html; Charset=iso-8859-1
| Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit

That is it; all the headers that exist in a genuine "Hotmail Staff" message
in a Hotmail account Inbox.

That URL looks like it points to IP addresses not belonging to Microsoft in
any way. If you have the complete message, including headers, you could
file complaints with the hosting companies.
