I only use Microsoft software products. It's just easier
that way. But, I've just about had it with the lack of
progress in Outlook Express concerning SPAM!

Does Microsoft have any plans whatsoever to update the
inadequate "Outlook Express" Spam blocking features? This
is getting ridiculous!

Other than some new features (filters that learn) that have been incorporated into Outlook 2003.. There doesn't seem to be much going on in this direction it seems...

Remember that OE is free. But there's no need to wait for the next release.
There are a wide variety of free spam blocking software out there. For
security needs it's almost always better to use a third party product, and
possibly always will be:

Look into free spam filters downloadable off the Internet.
Perhaps Outlook Express 7.x will have some of the features found in the Pay
version (Outlook) - but there I would only be speculating. The third party
solutions work as well if not better thanthe built in ones usually. Mainly
because that is their only concern.

Spam blocking was incorporated into Outlook Express once during the beta
stages, but an online greeting card company sued Microsoft and forced its
removal. I don't see the ability being put back in.

I guess I'll just comment on my original post. Think
about it for a minute. Microsoft produces Outlook
Express. Microsoft has billions in development money to
upgrade whatever it wants to support. Outlook Express is
perhaps the most used email client. Outlook Express has
inadequate SPAM Blocking capabilities. SPAM is killing
email.

If what y'all are saying is true, one might wonder, why
does Microsoft want to kill email?

Think about what you just pointed out for a minute.. And I think the answer
is rather obvious.

You said "Outlook Express is perhaps the most used email client.". Well, if
you rename the client to "Outlook LE" or omething, you can see the
transition point. Perhaps, like many other products out there, they are
pulling you in with the Lighter/Less Feature Filled version of software so
you will be tempted to buy the full version (questionably Outlook)?

That would give them money to support it with, a way of tracking usage of
it, etc. Where Outlook Express is like all the other freeware mail clients.

I know of a better spam blocker and it is not a
program.
Spam is not killing email, spammers exploit a hole
alright,
a hole in our brains.
