Ran scans with various 'updated' applications (as mentioned below), in safe
mode, clean boot, system restore turned off (where applicable) - no viruses
found.
Please help me removing this unwanted Security Warning sign, thanks.

I guess the link http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm is the one which
applies, as this Warning sign only started to appear when downloading the
most recent HOSTS file. I checked the various websites in the "Restricted
(sites) Zone" and can confirm that "*.doubleclick.net" in it. I also added
*.view.atdmt.com , *.atdmt.com and view.atdmt.com to the Restricted (sites)
Zone but the Warning sign still pops up. I really don't know what to do
anymore. Please advise if there is anything else I should implement, thanks

I am scared .I have never seen user using so many security softwares...It is
increadible.Why don't you apply for Guiness internation records ?
Of course,I would recommend you to remove most of them and
you can be sure now they are the buggest threat.
You need only :
1 antivirus software (with real-time) => eTrust EZ AntiVirus
1 antispyware software (with real time) => MS Antispyware
1 antispyware software -for help- (without real time) => Ad-Aware SE
Personal v1.06r1 ,also use SpyBot Search and Destroy
1 firewall - enabled at all times => I recommend you have Windows Firewall
in SP2 always on.Remove Zone Alarm and use only Windows firewall with Don't
allow exceptions.However,if may go on using Zone Alarm,but make sure you
disable Windows Firewall and keep only 1 firewall on.
Remove any other security software and leave those I advised only.
Then ,use a trial of that software to remove any malware + your softwares.

Thanks for your input though I am not sure it addresses the problem I am
experiencing concerning popping up of the "Warning Sign".
My problem is as follows:

Considering my limited technical knowledge, I find it difficult to
comprehend that 'On-Demand' scanning engines/applications could be an
attributable factor relating to popping-up of the "Warning Sign".
What is your rational for recommending the removal of "On-Demand"
utilities?
The On-Demand applications are: Bit Defender, Ewido, A-Squared, Ad-Aware,
Spybot S&D, Spyware Doctor, E-Scan Toolkit, Multi-AV, CrabCleaner and CW
Shredder.
The Real-Time protection applications are: EZ AntiVirus, M/S Antispyware,
ZoneAlarm, WinPatrol, Spybot's Teatimer, SpywareBlaster, HOSTS File and
Helexis Ads-Filter for IE6.
I have only one (1) firewall (ZoneAlarm) enabled. Based on numerous
communications from other experts to this and other newsgroups the Windows
fire wall is considered to be inferior because it will "protect" only
one-way traffic, or something like this.
Now, coming back to my original request for help to remove the annoying
"Warning Sign" pop-up, can you provide assistance please?

I closed/disabled TeaTimer in Spybot S&D, rebooted but the "Warning Sign"
still pops up.
I understand that too many Real Time applications will slow down the system.
Now, what you and Panda_man are saying is that On-demand applications will
also slow down the system!? Peter, please bear with me and clarify this as
I'm totally confused. I am not a technical person and my queries are
genuine (I'm not trying to be clever!).
Also, do you consider my Real Time applications an overkill?
My system is running like a charm, start-up is under 20 seconds, browsing it
is fast, responsive and 'snappy'. I am extremely happy with its performance.
After a couple of bad infections I followed D.Lippmans advice and practice
