About 2 weeks ago we purchased the McAfee Virus Scan
program and installed it on our computer. We have Windows
ME. Upon running the intial McAfee Scan we came up with
the W32/Sobig.a@MM virus. The files the virus was found
in was C:\Restore\Temp\A0192710.CPY, A0192713.CPY,
A0192716.CPY and A0192719.CPY. When I tried to first
clean the files the program said couldn't be cleaned and
recommended that I delete the files. Delete Error than
occured. Meanwhile, I ran Stinger and DOS scans and
deleted temporary files and cookies. I also did the
start, run regedit thing. Always running the scans with
system restore disabled. Also, when I check the Windows
file search for the commonly infected files (winmgm32.exe,
sntmls.dat, dwn.dat etc. the search comes up with these
files not found. So, I don't know if I actually have the
Sobig virus or not. The scans say I do, but none of the
files that should be there when there is an sobig
infection are present.
My computer is acting up. Most of the time it is non-
responsive and when I try to get it to respond a blue
screen appears saying Windows Error OD:0C14:0157268B.
Could this be the virus? Also, what is this error?
Any help would be appreciated.
