Hello!

Does the MRT make any loggings to Windows Event Log
when it detects a virus on the client computer?
This would be very handy feature, especially on company
networks. It's much easier to run scans on client computers
event logs, than it is to run them on local windows\debug
folders.

The file is;
%windir%\system32\MRT.exe

You can see the switch parameters with...
%windir%\system32\MRT.exe /?

The log file is...
%windir%\Debug\mrt.log

Running the following command line with launch a full scan and clean
malware automatically without user intervention.
%windir%\system32\MRT.exe /f:y

Good luck

Thanks for the reply!

What I meant with my question is that we're using WSUS to distribute updates
and, for example, MRT to our client computers. If MRT finds some malware on
our workstations, how do we as administrators get an alert or information
about it?
Since the only information is given to the user of that workstation, and
only logged information is to be found from the \debug floder?
By scanning the event logs i meant scanning the workstation logs for
certain event ID:s, not to scan them for viruses.. My mistake. ;)
