Also, never open attachments that claim to be "Updates" and unless you have
some reason to think an email address you have used may be wrong never open
attachments claiming to be "Returned e-mail" because viruses and spammers
both use such tricks to persuade people to do unwise things.
First clue is that Microsoft and many others have their own email servers,
so TheBiggestCom...@yahoo.com is likely to be a fake simply
because it would make no sense for them to open a free yahoo account :)

if it starts with "you've won" -- it usually goes downhill
from there (or if Nigeria is mentioned). The latest
scam that people are biting on in the US is the
phone call that claims they are "helping"
you and have detected fraud with your credit card. To
make sure you have not lost your card, they ask you for
the 3 digit security code on the card (so they know you
have it). Amazing how many people give them that
information. Sigh.
