I have cable internet, a router to split the connection between 2 computers.
1 computer running Win98 is always off (rarely used and turned back off
immediately). They are not networked.

Last night, before I went to bed, I shut down my computer running XP home.
I did not stay to watch it shut down, and so this morning, it was still
running because it came on saying another user was logged on - did I still
want to disconnect? When I logged back on, on my start/task list was the
application Remote Assistance. I did not even know that application was on
XP, or I would certainly have disabled it. I immediately did go in and
disable it. I also ran Norton's scan to see if there was any virus' or
spyware detected.

Now, how do I know if I was hacked? How do I know what they found/took?
What do I do?

Thanks!
Cheryl

When all else fails, HijackThis v1.99.1

It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware. **Post
