I've noticed something odd and was hoping someone could help me understand
why this is happening.

We deployed a new Enterprice CA environment a little while back and I've
noticed that when I open the Current User certificate store with certmgr.msc,
under the Trusted Root Certification Authorities area, our Root Certificate
is listed twice. It's the same cert with the same enrollment and expiration
dates as well as the same thumbprint.

Does anyone know why it's listed in there twice? This isn't isolated to a
single PC or server either, it's on all of them I've checked thus far.

Don't forget that your Trusted Root certificate store is populated from a
number of different places (from memory, I think that it pulls from local
machine plus the user's own cert store, but I could be wrong).

So, if you've deployed the certificate to the local machine as well as to
the users, that will explain it appearing twice.

Alun.
