I am using enterprise CA 2003
duplicating web server template and change subject to build from AD
after publishing back to the CA and restarting the service
the template does not appear in the templates combo box on the certsrv
gui
other templates appears

is it because it is a computer certificate?

how can I issue certificates from the new template for web server ?

Do you run Windows Server 2003 Enterprise or Standard?

You need Windows Server 2003 Enterprise in order to use custom (version 2)
templates.

Yes I am using enterprise CA 2003
The V2 templates work fine
the only problem I see is with computer templates using Build from AD

Hi, can you be more specific please?

What do you mean by certsrv GUI? Is it web enrollment pages (e.g.
http://caname/certsrv) or you mean the certsrv.msc console?

If this a normal behavior, what is the method to issue wev server SSL

As I mentioned in mine earlier post (http://tinyurl.com/9vyx72) you can use
autoenrollment, automatic certificate request or certreq.exe utility for
automatic certificate enrlollment.

If you get a certificate through web enrollment pages it won't renew
automatically (unless you use one of the mentioned methods).
