Does anyone know the details of this built-in group in Vista/Windows Server
2008? What is it used for?

Cryptographic Operators represent "Crypto Officer Role" defined in FIPS
140-2. In Vista we introduced new cryptographic component Cryptography Next
Generation (CNG). Configuration of this component is restricted to
administrators and Cryptographic Operators by default. For more information

download SDK that has more extensive documentation at
