Hi folks,

I have a P4 running XP service pack 2. 1G ram.

The computer has worked wonderfully for approx 4 yrs. I saw an ad for
System Mechanic & in a moment of weakness I decided to buy it since I have
never had any system maintenence other than the random defrag. I also have
Norton AV & downloaded an upgrade around the same time.

Running the System Mechanic found several "broken shortcuts", "registry
errors" & general wasted space. I decided to "fix all". Since then, if I
leave my computer for more than 5 minutes, my computer goes into super
slow-mo. If I click on anything, it takes 5-8 minutes to respond to any
mouse click. I have to power down & reboot. Then the computer runs as well
as ever ( if not better) as long as I am stimulating it!

The System Mechanic had the ability to undo each of it's processes, which I
did. I have deleted System Mechanic. I have disabled Norton, and I have
restored to a point prior to the install of System Mechanic. No luck.

Would any of you wise folks have any idea as to what is going on??

Thanks so much.
