Windows backup inconsistency

I added a folder several files from my USB pen to My Documents folder and I
decided to make a backup with the Windows utility. I chose manually the My
Documents folder in the wizard in the unit where I keep it and I maked an
incremental backup. But the dialog box showed a few bytes backed up, so I
decided to try to restore the backup. When I did it the directory tree was
reconstructed well but there were no files in the folders. I've checked the
file properties, there was only the read-only flag set. I tried to remove
that one and backup again, but the files weren't seen. I've seen in my pen,
there is the archive flag set, but in the files in the HDD there is no sign
of that. Moreover the timestamp of the creation of those files refers to the
day of the copy, not of the creation. It really seems to be a bug!
