The current version is quite old and could do with some updates. EG:
The activation issue fixed
The ability to turn pages by tapping the screen on touch screen devices
Better indexing
Ability to download direct to the device
I think it's pretty obvious that MS won't move on it unless there's a
threatened market that someone else exposes.

Todd posted last week that MS have released 2.42 which appears to fix the
activation issue on Windows Mobile 6.x.
If you missed it, the download is here:
and was posted by MS on the 10th Sep 2009, so it looks like MS are still
developing Reader, albeit very slowly.
