I have been unable to get my Windows Mobile 6.1 to activate so I can read the
eBooks I've purchased.

Did you download the update for Windows Mobile 6.1?

http://download.microsoft.com/download/5/5/7/557350B2-7CFC-43D5-A969-836DED479D3C/MSReaderPPCUSASetup.exe

This was released in September 2009.

The last Reader update includes support for Windows Mobile 6.0 and 6.1.
There is no listed support for Windows 7 Mobile.

I _think_ you're asking about Windows Phone 7, the mobile operating
system Microsoft announced a few weeks ago, and likely to appear in
phones next fall. It is a radically different operating system from
Windows Mobile, Microsoft's current mobile operating system. Microsoft
has not announced any updates for Windows Mobile.

The requirements for programs running on Windows Phone 7 are very
different from programs running on Windows Mobile, so I don't think
any programs will be compatible with both. I doubt the Microsoft
Reader executable you have now will work. However, I think the odds
are pretty good Microsoft will provide an update/replacement for
Microsoft Reader that works on Windows Phone 7. This prediction is not
based on any inside knowledge.

I think you are very optimistic. ; ) I don't expect any support for
Microsoft Reader in any form. They never gave us any support for Windows
Mobile 6.5, why would they support Windows Phone 7?
