The Home Publishing .php files are not
compatible with MS Publisher or any
other MS Office software.
The Home Publishing .php files are only
compatible with the following software:
MS Home Publishing
MS Picture It!
MS Digital Image

From what I could find on the Microsoft website, all the products you
mention are discontinued.
Is there a conversion utility that will convert Home Publisher files to some
other supported format?
OR...
I just upgraded my old Windows 2000 Pro PC to a new XP Pro PC and installed
all new Office products. Should I just re-install Home Publisher 2000 on my
new PC? Will it work OK with XP? Will this conflict with Office 2007?
I suspect your new system has a large hard drive...
you may want to consider installing the complete
program so you will not have to search the disks
when you need art. The instructions are in a
readme file on disk one. There are other install
tips also.
Also...and this is very important...make copies
of all the install disks and run the program from
the copies...it is not uncommon for the disks to
fail and replacements are no longer available.
Scroll on down for more info...
Yes...they are all discontinued...I was just listing
the programs that are compatible with Home
Publishing / Picture It! .php project files.
It's possible that you may find a copy of one
of the 2006 versions of Digital Image at an
online site like Amazon or eBay.
The ones to look for (all compatible with Vista
BTW) are:
#1) "Microsoft Digital Image Suite 2006"
or...
#2) "Microsoft Digital Image Suite Plus"
(same program but includes a copy of
Pinnacle Studio Ver: 10)
(there is a Vista compatibility patch
available for both of the above versions)
MS Digital Image 2006
*Vista Compatibility* Update

or...

or...
#3) "Microsoft Digital Image Suite 2006
Anniversary Edition" (this version is
optimized for Vista and doesn't require
the patch)
Sorry...but there is no way to convert a .php
file into a format that is compatible with any
other program that would recognize the
various layers and objects.
If you intend to continue using the .php files
for projects and editing the individual layers
and objects you will have to need a copy of
one of the programs I previously listed.
MS Home Publishing
MS Picture It!
MS Digital Image
Cheers.
