Hi! I am trying to design a little newsletter with ms publisher 98. I
would like to use 3 columns with dotted lines between each column. The dots
should only be about 2-4 point. However, try as I might, I cannot seem to
find any way to do this. I note that there are some huge dotted lines
already set up but these are no good to me as I cannot make them any
smaller. Does anybody know if it's possible to get the lines I am talking
about or does publisher not have this facility?

Pub98 does not have dotted line support, but Pub2000 has brought back
this much needed feature. That doesn't help much for Pub98 but there is
a work around.
1. Make sure that all text frames you are using have wrap text turned
off - see properties.
2. For the dotted or dashed lines create a narrow text frame and either
enter the characters for a dot or dash, or use the tab function and
select a tab leader. Experiment with font sizes until you find one that
is suitable for your document. -- Be sure to make this text frame
transparent. --
3. Rotate the text frame 90º and then position it on the dividing line
for the column. Use Alt+cursor for exact positioning.
4. If the length of the line isn't correct, you can either make it
longer than needed and cover up the excess with an opaque empty text
frame, or if the columns take up the entire width or length of the page
just leave as is since the excess will be in a non-printable area.
