Is it possible to make a text box that is not completely square or
rectangle.....like an "L" shape.

Yes. One way to do it is make a square or rectangle text box and enter the
text wanted.

Now make a second square or rectangle box of smaller size and place it over
the first box thus creating an "L" shaped text presentation.

I'm wondering this too. Why hasn't Microsoft figured out how to create a polygonal text box that automatically wraps text to fill its extents, when Photoshop and many others have? This has been a thing in newspaper type set for generations.
