I am running Publisher 2003 and have created a postcard for a direct mail
promotion. I would like to soften or blend the edges of the text boxes as
they appear very box like or angular. I have tried using the auto-shpaes and
ovals but these are too rounded. Any suggestions?

Michelle <Mich...@discussions.microsoft.com> was very recently heard
to utter:

You can adjust the rounding on the rounded rectangle AutoShape by dragging
the yellow handle.

Look for yellow handles when using AutoShapes. They are used to adjust the
shapes and can give a far greater range of possible shapes than most users
realise is available.

Use the 3D settings on your drawn shape, not exactly softening but it will give you
an interesting look. Create a shape, fill it with a gradient or texture, color the
text box and use the transparency slide. To get truly soft looks you will have to
create something in a Paint application.

This was so helpful. I am so glad this site is available and that the
answers, no matter how old, are left on here to be found.
