How do I set up a banner in Publisher 2007 to print onto 47.24 x 11.693"
paper without it trying to tile the job. I have a KonicaMinolta MFP that
does banner prints on this size paper and it works just fine using Publisher
2003. I need to use a computer that has 2007 loaded on it and everytime I
go into page setup, even though I have made the default printer for Publisher
the KonicaMinolta with Banner Paper it shows the page size as 47.24 x 11.693
but the sheet size as 8.5 x 11.

I am not allowed to set anything in settings on the page setup or print
setup that eliminates the tiling shown in the screen.

Thanks

I don't know how you can tell Publisher your printer will print banner paper. In
previous versions if you setup your printer for a specific size the publication
would go along.
This article may help, it is for HP Design Jet and for earlier versions.

I used the Office PDF plug-in to make a banner the size you specified. It worked
very well without the tiling.

This is a *save as* PDF converter rather than a *printPDF", although it worked
okay with Acrobat.

Banners tiled. Create a custom paper size via the settings or configure tab within the printer properties.
Then file, print, props, custom size, pick the new size you just created.
Before you print change to landscape under the print dialogue window and BAM!

I suspect that the OP has either found a solution or moved on by now. It's
rare that anyone would wait a year and a half for help.

I appreciate that this question is from years ago - but I still have the same issue - in Publisher 2003 I can setup a custom size for my banner (297x1200) and all is OK. Try do the same thing with Publisher 2007 and it fails. The Custom size cannot retain the 1200mm. I believe it is a fault with the software. We are a Konica Minolta supplier and have been for over thirty years, so hopefully we have some idea of what we are talking about. There is a work-around: create your banner in Publisher then save as a PDF and the banner will print it, or, create the banner in PowerPoint and that will also print.
