High,

I have produced several PDF's and my printing service seems to get error
messages with: Missing Fonds times new roman?

In tools of Pub 3 i can see:

Embed true type fonts when saving publication. ..............empty field
Do not embed common system fonts...........empty field
subset fonts for embedding.........empty field

Under fontname there are several listed and indeed Times new roman is one of
it with YES behind it.

Question:

What is the best to do?

Regards,

Karel

to
the embedding of fonts in a PDF is likely not related to any Publisher
settings.

It is related to the settings for (a) the Postscript printer used and (b)
Distillers job settings.

(a) Times New Roman is often not embedded in the PostScript because it is
metrically equivalent to the PostScript font Times. So the driver by default
won't include it in the PS file, expecting it to be replaced by Times which
is resident in a PostScript printer. To overcome this behavior you must
chnage the settings in your printer driver....precisely how will depend on
which OS you are using.

(b) even if the font is embedded in the PostScript, Distiller may be
ignoring it (for the same reason...a PostScripe printer is expected to have
Times resident). You will need to check/fix the font settings in Distiller.

AFAIK Pack and go is not related to PDF.

Do you actually use Times in the document? If Times is your default
program font, it is probably looking for that and the message can be
ignored.
