Does any one have an idea how to set up the socks server to be able to have
icq running behind Proxy 2.0

At first sight, it seems to me it´s very easy to solve your problem Warren.

All you have to do is click on the ´ICQ´ button on the ICQ bar, choose
preferences at the menu that shows up, then click on the ´Connection´ tab
and you will configure some parameters there...

1. At the ´Internet Connection Type´ box:

Choose: I´m using a permanent internet connection (LAN)
and
I am behind a firewall or proxy

2. Click on the ´Firewall Settings´ button
The ´ICQ Firewall Settings Wizard´ will open up.

3. At the ´Specify what SOCKS Proxy server do you use´ click on
the ´I am using a SOCKS4 proxy server´option.

click on the ´Next´ button...

4. A new window will open and you will specify the name or IP
address of your proxy server. Don´t touch in the port number
(1080) unless your network administrator has done so for se-
curity reasons...

click on the ´Next´ button...

5. Put your ICQ in Offline/Disconect status so that you can test your
configuration (at the principal bar on the flower button).

6. Finally you can test your configuration pressing on the
´Check My FIREWALL/Proxy Setting´.

7. It all won´t work unless your proxy IS running Windows Sockets
Proxy service at the proxy server.

Hope you have sucess!

If you uses the Proxy Client software the proxy is transparent to ICQ.
