We are trying to use Proxy as a firewall between our Lan and the Internet.
We have two seperate network cards installed and are using NT as our
gateway. When we try and assign seperate network IP addresses to the cards
we get errors. Can Proxy be used as a router between two seperate networks
or must both cards be on the same network with a router between the server
and the other network.

The way you're setting it up is the way it's supposed to work. Could you
post specific settings and the specific error you're getting?

The whole point is that you do NOT want it to be a router. You want it
to sit between your network and the internet. What you are trying to do
sounds right… It sounds like you have other problems however…

Set the external card to be an address provided by your ISP. Setup the
internal card for an internal IP range (I typically use the range
192.168.x.x). So you might set the card on the internal side for
192.168.0.5 or something like that. You will also need to tell MSProxy
that your internal address table (LAT) is the range you selected (if
your lan is small enough you can simply use 192.168.0.1 –
192.168.0.254).
