Hi,

we want to put everyone behind Microsoft Proxy 2.0 and need
to know if it will support RealAudio and Netshow streams coming
through it.

If you can help with this I would appreciate some email

thank you

This most definitely does work, you basically have TWO requirements:

Firstly the client machines need to be Winsock proxy clients, which means
you have to set that up and install the client software.

Secondly the clients MUST be authenticated to an NT domain.

The web proxy will work with basic authentication (prompts you for username
and password), but the Winsock proxy is only NT Challenge.

Be careful when setting up the Winsock proxy to include all the relevant
adresses in the Local Address Tables...

Setting this up is quite easy though...

Alen.

I've used RealAudio 5.x through Proxy 2.0. I think I've also used NetShow
but I can't confirm that.

I've tried to accomplish this, but I seem to be having difficulty. Could
you please point out any obvious settings that I could have missed?

I think that I have solved this problem.

The NT box had Routing and Remote Access Service installed and running (for
no purpose).

Stoping the router solved the issue.

Removed the router and remote access service.

Weird.

I had the same result. When Routing and Remote Access Service was running.
Real Audio clients could not communicate through MS Proxy 2.0. When I
stopped the service - it worked fine...

What's the deal here?
