I'm using the Gantt Chart view in Project 2000 and
am having a heck of a time getting text to wrap
properly in the task name field.

I've expanded the width of the row such that the
entire text appears on my screen. However, when I
print the chart, some of the longer tasks are wrapped
properly but others aren't; the row width is correct
but the text is truncated by the Duration field.

I can't just extend the column anymore because I want
to view all my columns on one page; if I shrink the
size of the page it becomes unreadable. >:{

Is this the only way to get text to wrap? Can I
force a carriage return somehow, similar to Alt-Enter
with Excel (which doesn't work; I tried it)?

I also would like to know the answer to that.

Ideally, I would like to format the task name column so it wrapped as
necessary for the current column width. Of course, some like the single
height line for the Gantt chart.

If there's no way to set that up as a default in project, does somebody have
a macro that would do that?

Hi Lianne,

I think you'll find that Project truncates the text in a column when it
encounters a carriage return. The simple answer is to not press the Enter
key to create a new paragraph (use as repeated ========= or whatever
instead). I think its a thing we'll have to live with. As you know. in
Project 2000 you can change the row height for any individual row, whereas
P98 all the rows heights have to be the same.

Nope, that's not it (but thanks anyways). I'm not using
more than one paragraph per task (they're pretty much
one-liners) but I tried retyping the text and making sure
I didn't use carriage returns anywhere, but it's still
truncating when I print it out.

It must be something along these lines though; as I said,
most of them are wrapping fine, there's just a few tasks
in one particular project that are cut off. And it's
wrapped when I'm looking at the file on-line, it's only
when I print it out.
