Actual Cost not calculating for cost & material resources in MSP 2016

Hello All,
I created a sample project with 3 tasks.Assigned each type of resource (Work,cost & material) to each task.Baseline was set and project progress updated to 40%.The activity in which work resource was assigned showed correct EVM values.But the tasks which was assigned with cost & material resources were showing different EVM values.Actual costs in those cases found to be zero.Why is it so???Please help if anyone knows the issue.
