Hello,

I have a worker that has one salary on normal days of the week (monday-
friday) and another salary on saturdays and sundays. How can I set it in MS
Project?

The way I have done this before is. Go to the resource name under the
resource sheet and double click the name. Click on the costs tabs and click
on tab any tab b-e. On the effective date choose the dates the resource will
be working on and enter the pay rate. Like I said this worked in the past and
i'm sure the pros on here have an easier way. Hope this helped.

Hello Piotrek,

Unfortunately, there is no automatic way of handling this. You can
add an over time rate for the resource and assign the Saturday and
Sunday work as overtime, however, Project will by default spread the
overtime hours throughout the duration of the task.

Another option is to create a different cost rate (for example use
Cost table "b") and assign the cost rate table. However, that would
require creating a separate task for the Saturday & Sunday tasks.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Yes, that's the problem.

Sounds like a nice solution. I also try using something else: I create two
virtual resources and set in their calendars that one can work only on
weekdays and the other one - only on weekends. That works, but I hope there
would be more simple and elegant way.

Thanks a lot!

You're most welcome. Sorry there isn't a more simple way than the
one you cooked up and thanks for the feedback.
