Is there a way to set a rate per resource PER TASK?

Can you set up separate billing amounts per resource per task in Microsoft
Project?

I would like to designate the rate at which the resource is billed by task.
In other words on one task this resource is billed at $35.00 per hour and on
another task the resource is billed at $50.00 per hour and so on and so on.
This can be 100 different rates for 100 different tasks.

Is there a way to do this?

Not out-of-the-box. However, you could use custom fields to do this.
