I had a few questions in relation to the My Tasks view in Project
Server 2007. Is it possible to change the default time period? Right
now it is currently going to the next week when you go into the My
Tasks web part. For example, it opens to the week of Dec. 28th right
now.
My other question is if there is a way to show the total hours entered
like the timesheets do. So if a resource enters their time for the
week they don't have to add the days together across their assignments
to make sure they entered 40 hours.
Thanks for your help!
Are you entering hrs by the week instead of by day? As an example we have
the week starting on Sundays and our My Tasks show 12/13 12/20 12/27 1/3
so not sure why you are seeing only 12/28.
Are you you using the Timephased View in the webpart?

I have it set for hours per day starting on Saturday in a timephased
view. So when I click on My Tasks it shows me the week of 12/28 and I
need to click Previous to get to this week.
I was hoping there was a way to show the total hours currently entered
for the week (like in the My Timesheets page). We do not use
timesheets at all--only Task updates.
A training client of ours had a similar problem, which was caused by setting
Saturday as the starting day of the My Tasks page. On the client's system,
the My Tasks page always showed the NEXT week rather than the current week.
When the client set either Sunday or Monday as the starting day, the My
Tasks page showed the current week as expected. If you select Sunday or
Monday, does the My Tasks page show the current week? Let us know.

I changed the start date to Sunday and it solved the problem! Thanks
Dale!
Any chance I can show the total hours entered (saved) for the week in
the My Tasks page? Somehow I don't think so but thought it is worth
asking.
I am pleased that my client's pain turned into your gain! To answer your
second question, there is no default way to add totals at the bottom of the
My Tasks page; on the other hand, you CAN add totals by adding the My Task
Totals web part to your organization's My Tasks page. You can learn more
about this Web part at the following URL:
https://www.projectdaddy.com/shopexd.asp?id=482
Our company has a variety of other very useful Web parts that effectively
"tame" and enhance the user experience on the My Tasks page. Hope this
helps.

Thanks,
Oh and I have trialed the task totals web part and we like it. Personally,
i like that we can watch our totals without having to scroll to the bottom of
the tasks. Very cool.
I am not aware of any way to work around the problems caused by setting
Saturday as the start of the timesheet grid in the My Tasks page. Sorry.
But I am glad you like the Web part! :)
