OLAP Cube build failure – What is the meaning of the queue job err

OLAP Cube build failure – What is the meaning of the queue job error details?
On my demo virtual server (Project Server 2007), after having successfully
built the OLAP cubes, it suddenly has become impossible to view or edit the
Data Analysis Views or create a new one.
When trying to rebuild the cubes, this process fails.

I have pasted the Queue Job Error Details below. What action should be taken
on this error-message?

One of my colleagues has advised me to delete the OLAP database entirely and
empty the OLAP object table within the repository database.
Upon trying to delete the OLAP database, however, exactly the same error
message is returned and I cannot delete the OLAP database

Does anybody have any ideas?

Error message when trying to delete the OLAP database:
Cannot show requested dialog.

Hello Sylvia,

It's really hard to determine from the information that project is
providing. I would suggest either openning the OLAP cube from SQL Server
Analysis Server and reviewing the cube, possible looking for corrected
measures or dimensions or better yet, I would import the OLAP cube into MS
Visual Studio 2008 and review all the objects within the cube.

MS Visual Studio is my tool of choice of determine what the problem is and
then it's a little easier to fix.

My initial guess is that the resource calendar is corrupt or has something
wrong in thhere, a possible a custom field is having an effect.

Hello Wharton Computer Consulting,

As I have not (as yet) sufficient knowledge of the OLAP cube in order to be
able to review it and detect any aberrations, I have requested a colleague of
mine to execute your suggestion.
My colleague found that neither reviewing the OLAP cube in Analysis Server
nor in Visual Studio provides any information as to what exactly would be
wrong with the file being identified as corrupted in the error message.
Entirely deleting said file only leads to another error message during Cube
Building, saying that that particular file cannot be opened.

Nevertheless, of course thank you for your input.

I also had this problem, and googling around found the following solution
that worked for me:

Something could be corrupted in the AS files at:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.2\OLAP\Data\EPMS_Analysis.0.db\

You can try the following:

1)Stop the AS service;

2)Take a backup of the contents of the above folder;

3)Delete all files and folders that are contained in the folder that I
mentioned above. Ensure nothing is in that folder before you move to the next
step;

4)Restart the AS service;

This worked for me. Advice copied from:
