After hours and hours of intall, remove, repeat, I'm at
my wit's end. Who wants to help?
Install SQL Server 2000, mixed authentication
3 dlls running; restart
Install SQL Server SP-2; restart
Install STS using STSWIZ. STSWIZ suggests deleting
Public Documents Subweb (the schema is wrong), I don't
know where to do that.
Install Office SP-1; Office SP-2; Restart
Install Project Server 2002, fill in all the blanks
(including STS Server and database), smooth install.
Run PScomplus; run proxycfg FakeServer; spend a bunch of
time setting up IIS and Trusted sites within IE
Project stuff works. I can create a subweb from STS, but
not from Project. VBScript error "cannot connect to
database."

Environment
Server in colo facility. Four IP addresses on machine.
One is live web site (restarts OK, but don't touch). I
installed all the Project stuff in Default Web Site. All
install CDs copied to server. There is no data in
Project I cannot reload.

Who wants a couple of hours work?

Your Point 3 "Install STS using STSWIZ. STSWIZ suggests deleting Public
Documents Subweb (the schema is wrong), I don't know where to do that" is
done from IIS. You must remove this before reinstalling STS using the wizard
or you're prompted to install SP1 for STS first (don't do that). Remove this
directory first, after un-installing STS, from IIS.
The most import thing in making sure Project 2002 works with STS is to
ensure SP1 is NOT installed with Office XP. This will screw up STS!
Other than that, your directions are fine.
