You might find that trigger animations work well for you. For the boxes with
the hyperlinks, set either an Emphasis (for some kind of shading) or Exit
(for disappearing) animation. Have that animation be triggered by the box
itself. That way, when you click on the box, in addition to the hyperlink it
will trigger itself to perform the animation. For information about trigger

You can also check out a bunch of my other presentations and medical

Otherwise, if you wanted to do it yourself without using macros, you
should be able to just use text link hyperlinks and make sure your
"followed hyperlink" color is different from your "hyperlink" color,
and they should change the colors when you go to them. You might also
want to look at using the "slide master" to create elements you want
on each slide (such as a link back to the board).
