That can be a solution.
If you use a WAV, it will be embedded in the presentation.

PowerPoint DON NOT embed your audio and video files. If you want to
email a presentation with external audio and video, you need to
package them into one file with correct relative path to presentation,
such as WinZip or WinRAR.
Actually, emailing a presentation in one file with rich-media has
other solutions. For example, you can convert your PowerPoint to solid
Flash movie with all media embedded and email the Flash file. Flash is
widely supported by most Web broswers and installed in most computers.
So your friend can watch the presentation without PowerPoint
installed. If you'd like to do so, you can try some conversion tools
such as Wondershare PPT2Flash (http://www.sameshow.com/powerpoint-to-
flash-pro.html), Articulate Presenter (http://www.artiiculate.com) or
FlashSpring Pro (http://www.falashspring.com).
Besides, converting PowerPoint to video files would be another easy
way but larger file size than Flash.
You can choose the way you like to solve this problem. Have fun :)
You mistyped a few urls
Articulate Presenter (http://www.articulate.com) or
FlashSpring Pro (http://www.flashspring.com).

For the audio issue, in addtion to insert the music to slides rather
than slide master, you may like to set the music to play through the
whole presetation.
