I'm trying to find .wav sound files to download for free.
I did a search on the Microsoft site and only found .cil
sound files. My version of Powerpoint 2002 wouldn't play
the .cil sound files in my powerpoint presentation. I can
hear the sound files that came with the software so I know
that the sound files will work on an animated object.
There were a lot of .cil sound files to download.

Do you know where I can find .wav sound files to download??

I recently did a similar search for another poster. Check out these links
and see if any of these sites have the sounds you are looking for:
http://www.catovah.com/wav-music.htm

http://www.imediabuilders.com/audioaction/ (This one has a page where you
can hear the pieces before you buy the CD. Its URL is
http://www.imediabuilders.com/audioaction/Data/playfrm.html)

http://free.tuttogratis.com/freemusic/wavsearch.html (A list of search
engines dedicated to WAV files)

http://free.tuttogratis.com/freemusic/wav.html (A list of sites with free
wav files of all types)

Let us know if you need more....

Hi, CHalford.

CIL is actually kind of like a Zip file. It's how
http://dgl.microsoft.com wraps up sound files and clipart and other
downloadable files there with keywords and properties that the Clip
Gallery recognizes. (If you're using Clip Organizer from Office XP, it
recognizes MPF files. Those are the same as CIL, but they're the version
for Clip Organizer.)

Right now, when you click on download, you should have an option to save
or open. I have the best luck with saving the CIL to my harddrive and
then double-clicking it to install the clips into the Clip Gallery. The
individual WAV (and other files) should extract to the Clip Gallery then
so you can use them.

And if you can't find what you like on the google search you can always
convert mp3's to wav files. Many programs i found on google search to
convert and the end results are working well in my pp presentations.
