I have a slide show with 47 slides and I am using a master.
For three slides in the middle of the slide show I need to show an
image only. This all works as planned with the exception of the timing
for these three slides.
I have these three slides timed for 10 seconds and the screen is blank
with the background of the master slide for the first 5 seconds. This
appears to be a timing applied to the master slide but I can't find an
adjustment.
Where is this option?
Thanks,
Robin Chapple
Any timing issues caused by the master will be an animation timing set to an
object or a timing set to a slide transition. So, enter the master slide
(View|Master) and check the transition timing, if any (Slide
Show|Transition). Also right click any objects in the master such as the
"background" you speak of and see if it has an animation timing (Right
Click|Custom Animation). If you cannot select the "background" then it is in
a place that cannot have animation set to it anyway.
As described above, checking these settings is also where the adjustment
"options" are.
Rephrase your question or give more details if I missed your point.

Thanks for the reply.
I am using PowerPoint 2002 SP1
I have changed the timing for the master to zero and the timing for
the slides in question to 10 secs.
I still get 5 seconds of the master background before the image
appears.
Cheers,
Robin
The timing of WHAT in the master? The Automatically Advance Slide time is
set to zero seconds?

Assuming you mean the Automatically Advance Slide time and if the answer to
my first question is "yes" then these slides will advance automatically in a
MINIMUM of 10 seconds. It overrides the master. Animation timings in the
slide, however, can override the transition timing and make it longer.

That's where I'm really loosing you. What image? Is that an image inserted
on each slide or is it in the master? Is it set to an entry animation
timing?
Why do you think you should not see the background of the master? Did you
omit background elements for those slides? Are you using a different master
for those slides? Do you have the background covered up in those slides with
an object such as a picture?
If you want, you can send it to me at robertlerner2000 AT yahoo.com (put
that together) if it's too complicated to describe. I'll be up a bit more,
but starting to see double now. ;-)

Yes, that is correct.

I refer to the sole content of the three slides, which is an image in
each case.

Because I have an image whicg fills the slide.

No, where do i find that option?
>Are you using a different master for those slides?
No, I cannot find the option for that either.

Yes, exactly.

If I have not explained myself satisfacorily I will take up your
offer.
Many thanks for you help,

This image that takes about 5 seconds to appear....what format is it...JPG?
What pixel resolution is it.....more than 1000pixels wide?
This could explain the delay...
Just a thought

The image is a JPG and it is 800x600
Cheers,
Robin
I have now tried a small image and it appeared instantly.
So now the question is:
Do I have to suffer the delay or is there a workround?
Cheers,
Robin
