=========================
The user had HGW and HG for DOS on the same machine, so I opened the
saved-down file in HG for DOS and it looked fine to me. (So I'm not sure
that PPT can even deliver on it's claims to convert from the older format
anyway.)
Since the original slides were "talky" (far too much text for a good slide
show, IMNSHO) I was able to export the text in outline (indented) format as
a single .txt file, from HG. I don't remember how, but I believe I found
the info in the help files. I'm sure the cut and paste process was tedious,
but it was better than typing, I guess. Plus, she didn't have to navigate
slides in HG, I just had her open the entire .txt file in Notepad. It saved
some time.
I hope my not-so-inspired story saves you some time, since now you don't
*have* to repeat my mistakes. (You can if you wish!)
Good luck.
