In my dreams--I wouldn't know vbs from dvd.

I get these runtime error messages frequently in basically 3 different
situations:

1. When sending a .ppt to the printer, or when opening a file:
Microsoft Visual Basic Run-time error '-2147188160 (80048240)':
DocumentWindows (unknown member) : Integer out of range. 1 is not in the
valid range of 1 to 0.

2. When using Clipart Gallery: A Runtime Error has occurred. Do you
wish to Debug? Line 541 Error: the callee(server[not server
application]) is not available and disappeared; all connections are
invalid. the call did not execute. When I say yes, I get "an exception
of type unknown exception was not handled"; then on Source Tab (we are
in Windowsland depths, where I do not go), highlighted in yellow is
"this(0).Parent Active = false;" (both "this" and "false" are bolded).

3. When at the Adobe. com site got the Runtime Error/Debug routine for
: Line 112, Line 22, Line 977, Line 1029, then "Object expected"

How can I make this stuff go away ... quietly? Is this even the right
NG to ask? If not, which? This is certainly the nicest. Thanks, dear
friends.

What version of PPT and what OS?
And if you do Tools, Add-ins, is anything listed there?

This all sounds pretty weird.

The Adobe.com one sounds like your browser ran into some javascript it
didn't like the taste of. I doubt that's anything to do with PowerPoint. I
think there's an option in MSIE that tells it not to stop and annoy you with
Javascript error messages. It's not like you can DO anything about 'em when
they're off in Adobeville someplace, right? <g>

Not that answering this question guarantees a solution, but...

In PP, if you do Tools | Add_Ins... (and Tools | COM Add-Ins...), what
add-ins do you see with (and without) a check next to them?

OOps, sorry, I left that out (and I'm usually the one crabbing about
people not "reading" what's right in front them -- embarrassing). Here
they are. Hope you won't ask me to part with many. I became quickly
attached to PhotoAlbum, IIW and PPTools, could give up PowerPlugs though
(haven't sent money yet... a little pricey for me). Haven't had to use
CloneMe yet. But this RunTime thing has been going on since before the
PowerPlug download.

x IIW
x MASTBAR
x SetViews
PhotoAlbum
x CloneMe
x PowerPlugs
x PPTools1
x PPTools2
x PPTools3
x PPTools4
x pptoolsh

Yah, but the VERSION of PPTools you have there is way old.
You want to get rid of it and d/l the latest version at
http://www.rdpslides.com/pptools/
I don't know if that'll solve the problem, but I do know that you WANT to do
it.
Trust me on this. There are bugs in there and I personally wrote most of
'em. <g>

Well, if I can't trust you, Steve, who do I? But I will say that the
PPTools were downloaded & installed about mid-July, so how many XP's,
updates & sr's since then? I can live with the RunTime Error. It
reminds me, that like me, the computer is an imperfect beast. You can
trust *me* on this.

Of what year, though? <g>

Seriously ... those are PPTools from version 1.

Version 2's been out for quite a long time now. Much improved.

In fact, the old version ... how to put this ... didn't actually make PPT
crash on its own, but did things in a way that sometimes eventually
triggered bugs already lurking in PowerPoint.

That could well be what's causing your problems here, dontchaknow.
