Some solutions could be:
Try turning off the background programmes such as anti virus software.

Turn off the fastfind indexer:
Check "POWERPOINT -- and everything else! -- SPEEDUP TIP" section at

Pre-run the presentation once before doing an actual presentaiton.

Remove temporary files such as clearing cookies.
