You can set the links to manual update to prevent the message.
You'd have to take care of forcing the update whenever it's appropriate then.

I have the same problem, but I can not manually update the links because I
have no capa[bility to mouse click. Presentation is set on a big monitor and
it needs to update when the host file updates without asking me to enable
macros, update links or update the links in the host file. please see my new
threat automatically update links... dated 04/18/2008 for more info to my
problem which seems to mirror this persons problem.

Hi,

PowerPoint doesn't do this out of the box, so you're probably looking at an add-in
to make it happen.
