My Word & PowerPoint spell check does not work

Hi, I recently purchased the Office Home and Student 2007 edition. My spell
check does not work at all in Word or PowerPoint (it does work in Excel and I
do not use OneNote). I can type in gibberish in PowerPoint and Word and the
spell check does not recognize that there is a misspelled word. Any
suggestions??? I really need a spell checker and spell check worked just
fine on my older editions of PowerPoint and Word. Please help!!!!!!

If you click on the spelling checker does it work or are you concerned that
the program isn't checking spelling as you type?

If it isn't checking as you type try this for each program as they are set
independently.

Click on the Program's Office button then click on the Programs Options in
the bottom of the window. Click on Proofing. Ensure that there is a
checkmark beside Check spelling as you type. Click OK.

Let us know if this fixes your issue or if it still remains.

I have the same problem with all Office 2007 apps. I've checked everywhere to
make sure that the options are set as suggested here and in other threads and
it still isn't working. Has anyone found a solution?

I have the same problem with Onenote. But don't expect too much from this
board or Microsoft. I was on this board a year ago and they offered no
solutions and they finally just stopped responding. I can tell you that
removing the entire program and reinstalling did not solve the problem and
that when I installed Office on another computed it was function with no
problems.

Has anyone found a solution to the problem of PowerPoint not spell checking. I also have this issue. PowerPoint will not catch spelling errors. If I runn spell check in PowerPoint I just get the message that "The spelling check is complete". But obvious spelling errors have not been flagged. What would cause PowerPoint not to spell check?
