Has anyone been able to use a quicktime VR .mov in powerpoint, just like you
would use on the web?
Thanks
Chris

It's been done, Chris, but it's an iffy process at best. Although some would not
agree, I think the easiest thing is to convert the quicktime files to something
like *.avi, which PPT will handle nicely. There have been a few posts about QT,
you might check the NG archives at http://www.deja.com

Well the issue is that you want the VR part of QT...QuickTime itself does
play in PowerPoint but if you have it set the Microsoft way you are using
the Microsoft Media Player which would play the VR file like it was a
regular Video file - once around in a spin. Kinda kills the VR part of the
file.

If you have QuickTime installed on your PC then you could insert the VR file
as an object and play it that way but you loose it as an embedded object it
will float out of the application as it's own object.

Well I have a solution for you on this one but a few hitches to get it to
work

First more than likely it will only work in 97 and PowerPoint2000. You will
need to use a custom slide that I have developed - with a little help from
some MVP friends - it has a Webbrowser control on it that will navigate to a
local or Internet based HTML file that will display your VR. The scenario is
that you create your HTML page that has the VR in it....you then point the
address line of this slide I can forward you to your local HTML file and hit
a GO button it loads the HTML page into the browser window and there you
have it VR in PowerPoint...

I am working on getting this page to load a HTML page automatically but
nothing at this time you will have to hit a button.
