I am very new to powerpoint. I am trying to make
photo slideshows and this program was recommended
by the Picture It newsgroup. I was successful in
making a slideshow on my first try but the file
size turned out very large, 70mb for 29 pictures.
Does any one know of a way to decrease the file
size. Also, is it possible to turn a ppt slideshow
into a screensaver?

Thanks in advance for you input.

Visit Steve's PPT FAQ at http://www.rdpslides.com where he has a link to
a great site that explains the ins and outs of scanning and optimizing
your images for various uses, including screen shows. That and
Tools/Options--turn OFF Allow Fast Saves--will help you keep your file
sizes small.

As for the screen saver, a search at http://www.deja.com will turn up a
few links to programs that do this--seems I've seen a couple new ones
mentioned here lately. One is at
