I've assigned an image to appear inthe background by going
Format > Background > click the colour dropdown > Fill
Effects > Picture > select image, but no longer want any
picture there. I cannot find an option to remove this
picture, just to change it.

The help files only make reference to Adding or changing a
slide background picture, nothing about removing or
deleting.

I'm using Powerpoint 2000.

TIA

Just go back to Format > Background > Other color and pick white (or
whatever color you want). Voila! It's all gone.

Thanks Sonia - that's got it!

(would never have thought of doing that... I was looking
for a "remove" button somewhere)

thanks again!
