I have an PowerPoint show (.pps) file with hyperlinks to other PowerPoint
files - everything placed on a CD for easy distribution. The PowerPoint show
opens automatically when inserting the CD and the viewer see a slide with
hyperlinks to other PowerPoint files on the CD.

For some of them I would like them to open NOT in show mode but in edit mode
in PowerPoint.
So that the viewer easily can save the presentation directly to their own
harddisk. I have tried using both action settings and direct hyperlinks but
alla PowerPoint files (both .pps and .ppt) opens as shows.

Anyone got an idea? Another way would being able to open some other kind of
file list or the windows explorer.´

Have you thought about having a window pop up for a Save
As? Or have a button on each presentation that the user
can click on to copy the files to a place on the users
computer?

Anna,
Have you tried to use an action setting like this
Run program
"PowerPnt.exe" <filename> replace file name with the relative path to the
file on that CD.
