I have been downloading mods from TheSimsResource for days, as I've just come back to the Sims after years of not having a Macbook (I'm currently using Macbook Pro). I've barely even started to play as I can't really play without mods lol.... also, I used to use this site all the time when I played years ago and never had issues. Anyway, long story short, one mod (which I suppose might be a non-updated mod?) will crash the game and I can't even open TS4 to play. I'll get a message telling me to delete the mod, which I do. I'll delete it from the folder, empty the trash and even remove the localthumb, which apparently has the memory of the mod on it. Still, the game won't open. It's like there is a ghost of this damaged mod that somehow lingers there and effects all of my other mods. If i take all of my mods out of the folder, the game will start, but just the boring base game. Even when I remove the offending mod, the notification I get when I try to start the game is as if the mod is still in my file somewhere.

I've tried reinstalling Origin, tried repairing the game, tried starting over with mods, too; but without fail, at some point, one of the mods will randomly cause the game not to open (as now I'm checking as I download). Then, once I've again picked a bad mod, all the other mods stop working. It's been a very frustrating and vicious cycle and I'm hoping there is some sort of way I can fix this, as at this point I've even already purchased Packs and stuff to play this.

I've been wanting to play a slow paced, life sim version of Skyrim for a while. Any SFW recommendations would be much appreciated. Speciel edition, preferably Anniversary Edition compatible. Here are some mods I've already set aside for it:

I've been playing sims but then I decided to update my mods and add new ones. after I installed them, my sims didn't launch so I went online for help and found out that it might be my mods. I took the mods file out and tried to launch it and it worked. so, I went online on forums on how to spot bad mods and removed the bad mods, but it still won't launch with the mods I have. the problem is that most of my game play was made up of the mods and I don't want to have to delete my households to start over when I spent month on them.

You've clearly got a mod issue and the only way to find which one is causing the problem is to test them. Chances are that you only have a few mods and most of what you have is CC. CC rarely causes a game launch issue so you should start with the mods first.

You will need to move your mods folder to your desktop or elsewhere on your computer out of the game path. Then create a new, empty, mods folder. Move or copy one mod into the new folder and start the game. If it launches, then quit and add another one to the folder and launch again. Rinse and repeat until you find the one stopping the game from launching. Do not save the game while you are doing the testing. Once you've found the mod stopping the game launch, either remove it or see if you can find an updated version. Don't stop until you've tested all of your mods. You may have more than one broken mod, so test them all. If you go through all your mods and don't find the problem, then look at your CC without any mods in the folder. I suggest using the 50/50 method for your CC.

One CC related thing I do know that will keep the game from launching is if you inadvertently put a TS3 CC item in your mods folder (been there, done that) so if you installed any CC just prior to the problem starting, check that CC to make sure it is for TS4.

My issue is, my mods aren't showing up in game. I've ruled out the game being out of date, I've ruled out incompatible mods, I've ruled out mod formatting/extraction, and I have enabled both CC and script mods in game. I've tried the delete your mod folder-> boot up the game -> new mod folder should spawn thing, because I think my issue is that I'm missing the mods resource.cfg file that I've seen mentioned here? Because when I installed the game the first time there was no mods folder and I had to make my own. So, I deleted the mods folder that I made and booted up the game and no matter how many times I did it- switching the 'enable mods' on and off- I cannot get a mods folder to spawn. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game and the issue is still there.

From your pics, you are showing the program files. You should not touch those files or folders. If you have been creating a mods folder there, then it's no wonder that your mods don't show up in the game. It's the wrong place and the game will never find them.

Where you need to look is in Documents>Electronic Arts. There should be a folder there named "The Sims 4". That is your user folder. And within it you should find a number of files and folders that hold mods, saves, screenshots, tray, overrides, etc. The mods folder there should be empty and is where your mods go.

Have you tried a folder reset by creating a new user folder (The Sims 4). Just rename your current one and restart the game. A new one will be created automatically. You'll have to go through making the sim and placing them and resetting your Gameplay settings in Game Options. Then save and exit. Take a look at your user folder and see if you have a Mods folder. If you do, then you can copy or move your Saves, Tray, ConfigOverride, Screenshots, and Custom Music folders from the old user folder to the new. Then add your mods to the Mods folder. Start the game and see if your mods and CC show up in game. They should. If they don't, then something else is going on. Your game should not need repair since you reinstalled everything, but you can try doing that if the mods don't show up as well.

Made by Sacrificial mods, the zombie apocalypse mod is heavily inspired by Resident Evil, and can see your Sims become terrified or zombified. Trigger a zombie apocalypse with an incredibly cool story mechanic, then decide whether you want to survive or infect.

For mod fans who want to get into the nitty-gritty details of playing The Sims, then check out the MC Command Centre mega-mod by Deaderpool. This mod is a collection of smaller mods that give you the power to make small adjustments and tweaks to how sims live their lives.

The Sims 4 has many unofficial mods and Custom Content that you can install to expand upon or improve gameplay, such as texture mods, new hairstyles and eye colors, custom houses, and more. This page teaches you everything you need to know about How to Install Mods in TS4 and where to find CC on PC and Mac.

There are thousands of websites that offer Custom Content for TS4. Some focus solely on certain things like appearance mods or furniture, while some have everything. So it can be confusing and sometimes overwhelming to know where to look.

A menu should pop up every time you start The Sims 4, confirming the mods you want to use with your game. You can also turn Custom Content off from this menu if you decide you don't want to play with certain ones in this session.

You should see sparkles around your sims feet, if you don't see it or if it ever disappears when your sim is in labor, click on your sims and select "Have Baby at Hospital" "Join" again to get it back.

Click on your sim and select "Start Home Birth", you should see sparkles around your sim's feet, if you don't see it or if it ever disappears when your sim is in labor, click on your sims and select "Start Home Birth" again to get it back.

The animation has one happy version and two sad versions. You will only get the sad version if one or both sims have the "hates children" trait (or unwanted pregnancy using RPO).

You can eat lactation cookies to speed up milk production. Non nursing sims can also lactate if they enough lactation cookies, this item can be found by searching for "cookies" or "pandasama" in build and buy

To install Sims 4 mods, you can drag and drop the mod folders you've downloaded into your Sims 4 "Mods" folder. The game should automatically have created one for you after you start up the game for the first time.
