Subtitle issues 2010

A slide has text filled placeholders for Title, Subtitle and Body text. When changing to the layout '2 columns' the subtitle text is moved out of the subtitle placeholder and into the second (to be empty) column placeholder, leaving the subtitle placeholder empty. What do I do wrong? Thanks!
