Addendum:
Let me also add that this problem is on PPT 2002 with
Windows XP and all the updates and service packs possible

Always thinking...

so we came up with a work around as follows:
click on the gradient object
cut it or copy and delete the original
then paste special it back as a picture (.png worked)
haven't tried the other paste special options yet...

still would rather have the original object print the way
it is supposed...

I have a presentation where a couple of the slides contain
a rectangle object that has been filled with a gradient
that goes from solid color to 100% transparent.
Yet when printed on 4 different printers (HP laserjet,
Ricoh Laser, Epson Color Inkjet, and a HP 750c+ Plotter)
the out come is the same, the gradient object is printed
out as a solid fill, not as a gradient.
Any help with a work around or solution would be greatly
appreciated.

Thanks
Mark

Nice workaround, Mark.

There are some odd transparency issues with PPT 2002/XP, and I suspect
you're seeing the results of those when trying to print gradients. Your
workaround is probably the way to go.
