Devon,

I don't think it's a bug, I think it's deliberate. The past Win
3.1 v4.0 allowed the cursor to be visible at all times. I've sat
through so many shows where the speaker did not utilize the mouse at
all that the cursor arrow was a distraction hanging around the center
of the screen. PPT97 keeps it hidden until you need it when you move
the mouse, so in my opinion, that's a cool feature.

Guys,

I understand that the pointer ducking out during a presentation could be
called a feature, but my pointer vanishes actually whilst I am editing a
presentation (usually a chart or graph). I can minimize PowerPoint (or
alt+tab to another application) and the mouse is ok in all other apps, but
the only way to get the pointer back in PowerPoint is to shut it down and
restart it again. Very annoying feature! Any help appreciated....

Regards,

Ellis

Ellis, Try turning down the graphics acceleration in Control Panel,
System, Graphics, Acceleration. Click the slider bar one click from
the right (fastest) and try that. One click or two should take care of
your problem.
