I've used a short macro to print slides when a user hits an action button.
Seems to work fine in Powerpoint but when I run the presentation with the
Viewer, it doesn't. Are macros somehow disabled in the Viewer?

Thanks,

Robin

When you buy PowerPoint or MS Office, you're also buying VBA (Visual Basic for
Applications). Macros are essentially Visual Basic programs embedded in an
Office document, but only the code exists there. The VBA server (the actual
program that executes the code) is a commercial component in Office that MS
isn't going to give away.

What gripes me is that our only two choices for distributing PP
presentations are to live with the crippled viewer, or to buy a full copy of
PP for every site. MS needs to offer a commercial runtime package for PP that
includes a VBA server and distribution rights. They do this with Access, so
why not with PP?

As it is right now, I'm looking for an ActiveX control to conveniently add
PowerPoint-like transitions to VB5 forms and controls. Then I'll just build
presentations directly in VB, compile them, and be done with it.
